Grace Ministries is a charitable organization which was incorporated in September of 1972. Founded by Gordon Walker as an entity that would allow contributors to support his ministry of Bible teaching, ministry and evangelism. Over the years many peoples’ lives have been improved through the ministry of Fr. Gordon and his work through Grace Ministries.
Today, because our own lives have been greatly impacted by his ministry, the trustees of Grace Ministries are committed to carrying on the same spirit of ministry, charity, love and hospitality as the Walkers had practiced throughout the years. Though we can never accurately duplicate their gifts and personalities we can do our best to faithfully use whatever talents that the Lord has given to us.
The log house that Fr Gordon and Kh Mary Sue lived in for nearly 4 decades has been named The St Thomas House after Fr Gordon’s patron Saint. It will continue to be used for hospitality, just as the Walkers did for so many years. Also, it is opened to be a “Shepherd House” to assist young ladies who find themselves in a “crisis” pregnancy. If they are so caring as to choose life we will come alongside and help them.
We have also taken responsibility for over an acre of blueberries, Fr Gordon’s crop that is over 35 years old. It’s always been a “you – pick” for the people our area but now we also want to create products out of it for the young ladies in The St Thomas House to participate in running a business, gaining experience that they could use the rest of their lives. We’ll let you know when we have “St Thomas House Blueberry Jam” and “St Thomas House Blueberry Honey Butter”.
As far as the abilities of our trustees, we have extensive experience in estate planning and charitable gift annuities. The effort will be first to provide stability in income for annuitants and secondly a unique opportunity for other charities to grow their funding needs without asking their donors to write another check to them.
